Data Deletion Policy

Last updated: March 26, 2026

1. Your Right to Delete

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws, you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data at any time. MyAttic makes this process simple and transparent — you can delete your account directly from the application without needing to contact support.

2. What Gets Deleted

When you delete your MyAttic account, the following data is permanently and irreversibly removed:

  • Your files: All documents, images, PDFs, and other files stored in MyAttic are permanently deleted from our servers.
  • Thumbnails: All generated preview images for your files are deleted.
  • Folders and organization: Your entire folder structure, including system folders and custom folders, is removed.
  • Labels: All custom labels you created are deleted.
  • File metadata: AI-generated descriptions, categories, extracted data (dates, amounts, reference numbers), and all other metadata associated with your files.
  • Search index: All entries in our search index related to your files are removed, so your data will no longer appear in any search results.
  • Channel connections: All linked messaging channels (Email, WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber, Messenger) are disconnected and their connection data is removed.
  • Conversations: Chat history and conversation context with our AI assistant across all channels is deleted.
  • Emergency access tokens: Any active emergency kit access links are invalidated and removed.
  • Quarantined emails: Any emails held in quarantine (pending approval) and their raw content are deleted.
  • Account data: Your profile information, settings, preferences, plan details, and consent records are removed.
  • Authentication: Your login credentials and authentication records are deleted from our identity provider.
  • Real-time data: Any pending notifications, sync progress data, and temporary state are cleared.

3. What Does NOT Get Deleted

The following data is not deleted when you remove your MyAttic account:

  • Files on external storage providers: If you connected external storage services such as Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive, files that were synced to those services remain there. These files are stored in your own accounts on those platforms and are under your direct control. You can manage or delete them through those services at any time.
  • Messages on messaging platforms: Messages you sent to or received from MyAttic bots on WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber, or Messenger remain in your chat history on those platforms. MyAttic does not have the ability to delete messages from third-party messaging services.

4. How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your account directly from the MyAttic web application:

  1. Log in to your MyAttic account at app.myattic.ai
  2. Navigate to Settings → Account (accessible from the sidebar or user menu)
  3. Scroll down to the Danger Zone section
  4. Click the “Delete Account” button
  5. Read the confirmation message carefully, then confirm the deletion

The deletion process begins immediately upon confirmation. Once started, it cannot be reversed.

5. Deletion Timeline

When you confirm account deletion:

  • Immediate: Your files, folders, labels, metadata, search index entries, channel connections, conversations, and account data are deleted from our active systems. You are signed out and can no longer access your account.
  • Within 30 days: Any residual data in automated backups will be permanently purged as backup cycles complete. During this period, backup data cannot be used to restore individual accounts.

6. Alternative: Manual Deletion Request

If you are unable to access your account or prefer to request deletion through other means, you can contact us at [email protected]. Please include the email address associated with your account. We will verify your identity and process the deletion within 30 days, as required by GDPR.
